GOSPEL ECHOES
When I first started to church and listening to sermons, I used to think is this all there is about religion. I heard more about condemnation that anything else. I heard the stories from the Old Testament and about the birth and death of Jesus and his resurrection. So now he is gone and I am awaiting his return. I knew there was a yearning inside me for something else.
In mid 1980 I would pick my grandson Cole up from school each day. One particular day I went to get into my car and I looked down on the ground and I was standing on a piece of paper half covered with sand. I reached down, dusted the sand off threw it into the front seat with the idea of throwing it in the trash when I returned home. I always got to school early and as I sat there waiting for the bell to ring I looked over at the piece of paper and started to examine it. It was a newsletter of some sort stapled together addressed to a man on Blythe Island. I live near the end of Townsend Street near the college. Eight or nine miles away. I opened it and began to read. The Holy Spirit was not really talked about that much in church and I always knew that Jesus lived in my heart but so did my grandmother and she was dead and gone. So the confusion began. She was just a thought maybe that's what he is.. Anyway as I read this wonderful teaching I really got excited. No condemnation just what we were in Christ after we are saved. Mostly what I had heard was from the Old Testament and while Jesus was alive on this earth. Nothing after his death and resurrection.
I wrote to the place this wonderful paper had come from and ask them who they were and they put me on their mailing list. They also informed me that the Newsletter that had landed in my driveway at the drivers side door of my car was the LAST Newsletter that gentleman had received from them. He never wrote to renew his newsletter. I started reading these newsletters and I began to grow in the knowledge and Grace of the Lord. They never asked for money , not even one time. They trusted the Holy Spirit to move on the hearts of those who received the teachings. Ray and Doris Prinzing in Boise Idaho were the ones behind the ministry. Ray passed away a few years ago but I did get the opportunity to meet them in Jacksonville, Fla. They included the unusual way in which I had come across their newsletter in their yearly summation newsletter. The Spirit had already singled me out to start reading their literature.
From that time forward I trusted the Lord to orchestrate my life and my comings and going. I came face to face with the spirit of Christ. He is a real being who lives inside this vessel or house of clay and He promised HE WOULD NEVER LEAVE ME.
