A number of years ago I went on a woman's Christan retreat with some ladies from Assembly of God in Brunswick, Georgia. Even though I did not attend that church regularly, I had come to love and respect these ladies. On the trip I was assigned to ride with the young ladies-I was near 50. That was the first time I ever heard Dallas Holms sing. In fact I rode in a van with surround sound and it was spectacular. Dallas Holms sang "Rise Again" and I became an instant fan of his.
THe older members of the group stayed in a motel and the younger at a camp.
Early that first morning we departed the motel and started for the Van. The sun was just coming over the mountains and it was a most beautiful sight. As we stood there looking at the handiwork of God, a flock of birds covered the morning sky. It was magnificent to watch them surge across the sky. Suddenly a bird fell from the flock and as we watched the whole flock surged toward the gound, surrounded the fallen bird and picked it up and flew off with it in the midst. I had never witnessed anything like this.
I have so many wonderful memories of that weekend to carry with me and reflect back on. I remember those young women and pray for them still. Glenda, Helen the Pastors wife and others. God has been so good to me and I never deserved any of his blessings or the grace he has bestowed upon me. Thank you Lord.
